This was a really great vehicle to learn that teacup pigs do not stay small forever. I had always just assumed.

When I first read about the teacup pig trend, these little pigs, so cute, nice pets, blah blah blah, I thought it was just a rebranding of potbellied pigs. Potbellied pigs are small by pig standards when full grown, but still the size of a large dog. The only one I met was probably 100-110 lbs. Similar in size to my childhood dog or my now times wife.

Then I saw a picture and knew the truth. These were not potbellied pigs, they were a scam. They were little baby piglets. For all I know, they may be piglet potbellied pigs, but they are babies. Why do people fall for so much crazy stuff. Tiny, carryable pigs. "No middle eastern wars" presidents. I am glad I got the skeptic gene.

In fairness, I really just wasn’t thinking much about the pigs. My dog is very small; I figured pigs could be very small.

You probably could have titled this article "Twink Death" and gone 2 for 2 with pitches to Grindr. Just sayin

It's beyond the physical though, right? A twink death of the spirit

Though the twink cannot fully admit it until he has resurrected as a daddy, all twink death is more than physical.

Twink Death of the Spirit is the objectively the better title, tho

There's a third option for Chalamet, explaining the backlash he was getting over something so obviously trivial, which is that the very specific kind of guy he (is/was-trying-to-be, take your pick), the cinnamon roll softboi that was en vogue ten years ago, suddenly became really really uncool, and people were looking for any excuse to be haters.

Or, concisely: Timmy got "womaned!"

I run into chalamet on the Red line pretty frequently. We just nod at each other at this point. He's an all together normal dude in real life, 🤷

Trudeau tried to be the softboy PM and the sporty Chad PM at the same time, and failed to convincingly present as either in the long run. (I think Carney is the golden mean bw Harper and Trudeau in terms of the image of leadership that the Canadian psyche craves- sober technocrat, but also cleans up nicely and has a personality)

I was going to say, the linked paper mentions Trudeau dressing as Han Solo, but not his other favourite costume choice

reading this helped me decide that my newest way of exacting petty revenge is to gift someone a teacup pig

Sprout? Is there something you are trying to tell us here? Are you on this path? Is that why there is vegetal representation? Are you going to make us all regret that we believed in you?

Isn't this true of every actor/athlete/personality with a clearly defined brand? If you're famous for doing/being X, you can't expect to become Y and keep your reputation and fans from being X.

Chalamet is everywhere because of that soft and pretty persona. You can pivot away from that, it just means you won't be everywhere. Mulaney hit the same wall; his jokes about drugs were funnier to his audience when they were "unexpected" in comparison to his public image. Change that public persona (on purpose or by going on a bender) and you have to adjust your act accordingly.

There's a third option for the teacup pig. I won't go into detail because I know how sensitive your readers are, so I'll just leave this link: https://youtu.be/RqFi0cZ4p1E
